January 4th, 2005

Dear Friends and Family;

Hope is a theme at the Pheif house.  Everyday we are hopeful for Hayden’s health, for the FOP community and for the FOP laboratory that they receive enough funding to continue on their awesome journey to find the cause and create a cure for this mysterious and unrelenting disease.

We would like to thank everyone who participated in the 2nd Annual Hayden’s Hope Fundraiser.  It is through these people that we are able to be successful in our fundraising efforts.

The event was a huge achievement for everyone who worked hard to put it on and we are very excited to announce that we raised over $150,000 for FOP research.  These monies will fund three research fellows for a year at the FOP lab at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

As you may know, FOP is such a rare disease that it affects only approximately 500 people throughout the world.  Although the FOP lab recently received a coveted grant from the National Institute of Health, primary funding comes from family and friends through their donations and fundraising efforts.

John and I are enormously thankful to everyone and hope that you will frequent Hayden’s website for updates on Hayden, FOP research and information on the 3rd Annual Hayden’s Hope Fundraiser for FOP Research.
